A Trip to Georgia and a Visit to a Med-School

Ryan and I had such a fun trip to Georgia visiting some of his family this past week. There's something about staying with people as apposed to in a hotel in the city. You get a completely different and more accurate feel for an area. And I must say ~ Ryan and I were pretty smitten with it.

Downtown Atlanta before our tour of the Coca-Cola Museum and the CNN headquarters.

Coke has 60+ drinks there from around the world that you can sample as much as you want.
Many of them however were pretty disgusting and I only made it through maybe 20. Ryan however sampled all 60...and then felt quite sick. Big surprise there.

At the top of Stone Mountain (which seems to resemble the surface of the moon)

It was amazing though, and unlike anything else I've ever seen before ~ Not to mention you could see for miles and miles in every direction.

A little tidbit of information is that there are three men riding horses carved into the face of the mountain (Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis). Like a minnie Mt. Rushmore, plans to do the carving in this mountain were actually underway before that of Mt. Rushmore!

Here was Amicalola falls, another must see destination if in the North Eastern Georgia area.

For these Californians, it was pretty chilly this day--hence my borrowed hat from Ryan's stepdad

Then we explored downtown Greenville, SC and its medical school. I applied there, and after seeing both the school and the area, Ryan and I easily pictured ourselves fitting right in. The two year old medical school there was extremely gorgeous and very state of the art!

After a weeklong trip packed full of sightseeing, good southern food, and quality time with family it was time to head back home...
